Hi there!! Can you believe it’s Wednesday again already??
Yep, that means it’s time for a new Challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. The theme this week is
Anniversary/Wedding
We’re featuring Impression Obsession products so if you have any I.O. products, we’d love to see you use them but it’s certainly not a requirement to join the fun!!
Each week Simon Says Stamp generously gives away a $50 voucher to one lucky (randomly selected) winner to use at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp store.
So…. since I only own 1 product by Impression Obsession that could be used to make a wedding/anniversary card, I decided to make 3!! And all were easy and quick to make. I started off with this shaker card.
I used some white woodgrain card stock to give it a little texture and I used the Stitched Hearts Stackables by Lawn Fawn to cut out the 2 shaker windows. Then I ink blended some Worn Lipstick and Tattered Rose distress oxide inks to create my background for the windows. I cut the Love die from Impression Obsession out of this GORGEOUS Rose Gold Glitter card stock. I decided to add a few more hearts just because I love that rose gold glitter paper so much. But the die I used for the additional hearts has unfortunately been retired, so I’ve added a couple comparable heart dies in the list of products below.
I put the entire card front onto a Fog background then attached it all to a Neenah Solar White card base. For a final embellishment, I added some clear (Morning Dew) Nuvo drops.
For my next card, I had originally made this Wide Striped background to use as the background for my shaker card, but I just wasn’t feeling it. And then I goofed on the stitched hearts while making the shaker card (see video below) so I put the two together and I had me-self another card!!
This time I used the silver glitter card stock from Simon Says Stamp and I have to say I really love that one as well!!
I added a couple layers of the Love die using Neenah 80 lb. card stock and then topped them off with the glitter paper.
Those distressed hearts with that glitter card stock and the fog colored striped background is a perfect combination, in my opinion. I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles to cut the striped background down a bit so it would have a white border and popped it up with some craft foam on a 110 lb. Neenah Solar White card base.
To finish this one off, I add a few more hearts and a few more nuvo drops and an arrow for good measure and I was off onto my 3rd and final card.
This post is almost over, I promise. This was the easiest card out of the 3. I had never embossed using a die before and I’ve had an embossing pad for awhile now so I had to give it a go. I placed the Love die in different spots all over my card front and embossed it and then like the 2nd card, I cut the word Love out of white card stock three times and glued them all together.
Since I’m kinda obsessed with this rose gold glitter card stock, I used that to top off my layers of Love. I added some twine and a couple of hearts and we got ourselves a third card, ladies and gents!! If you’d like to see how I made all three, you can click on the video below or head to my YouTube channel for a list of all of my videos.
