Friendly Frolic New Release

Hello there, friends. I have a couple quick cards to share with you to kick off the newest release from Simon Says Stamp called Friendly Frolic. The background stamp that I had to work with is called Folk Dance Background stamp and I actually had a lot of fun playing with this one.

I wasn’t too sure about it at first, only because I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to do with it, but then the stamp just kinda took over!

I heat embossed it, I watercolored it, I stamped it. The only thing I didn’t do that I wanted to was ink blend over the embossed image. I just ran out of time so I’m sure you’ll be seeing that in the near future.

Ok, I’m just going to throw some images at you for now because I’m still working on a video for these. As I’m typing this, it’s almost 2 a.m. and instead of staying up all night and getting it done, I’m just gonna get a few hours of shut eye and be back at it bright and early… in a couple of hours. I’m realizing that I’m getting too old to be pulling all nighters. I just can’t do it anymore. It takes a toll on me, that’s for sure. So please come back and check it out soon!! Hello my friends!! It’s that time again for a new Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. My goodness summer is flying by. I don’t want it to. I wish summer was twice as long as it actually is. Wouldn’t that be amazing? Well, it would for me because it’s not scorching hot here in Northern California, but I’m sure some of you may disagree with me… We top out at 80 degrees most summers.

How cute is this stamp set? I just love these ladies. Art Impression really captured just the right expression on all three of their faces.

I used my copics to color these beauties and I’ve listed all the colors down below.

I paper pieced the dresses so that I could give them some fun patterns.

This set comes with three sentiments. All three of them are pretty great. I loved this one though.

When I was done editing my video and blog post, it was then that I decided to add these enamel dots. I think it was just what this card needed to complete it.

Hi guys!! Yes, it’s time for a new challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. Thank you for joining us last week for the Fun in the Sun Challenge and we hope you will join us again this week too.

This week the challenge is

I had so much fun playing with watercolors and the Center Cut Burst stamp this week. I heat embossed the background image using liquid platinum embossing powder on 140 lb. coldpress watercolor paper. After I watercolored my background, I cut this lovely hugs sugar script die from Birchpress using silver and black glitter papers from Simon Says Stamp.

To finish it off, I added a few iridescent bubbles by Studio Katia. They are so pretty and coordinated beautifully with the color of the card. I popped it up on some white craft foam and attached it all to purple card stock.

When I started this, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to ink blend over this background stamp or watercolor so I made a couple backgrounds using watercolor paper and a couple using bristol. These first two are made using watercolor paper.

Since I had the watercolors out and another heat embossed background, I decided to make another card using different colors.

I’m really happy with how this one turned out too. I heat embossed this one with black embossing powder and then added my watercolors.

I am still madly in love with these dies that include a shadow die. I used black card stock for the shadow and gold glitter card stock from Simon Says Stamp for the word Hugs. The rest of the sentiment is from the You + Me stamp set by SSS, which has been discontinued, but is still available in the store at this moment.

For this one I decided to do some ink blending. I used distress oxide inks in Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch and Wilted Violet. This time I cut the sentiment with white and black card stock and used a Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen to go over the black card stock and then topped it off with Glossy Accents.

The rest of the sentiment is from the Messages for Everyday stamp set from SSS. I added foam squares to pop it up. I added a few Iridescent Bubbles because these bubbles are absolutely gorgeous with purples and greens and blues.

I popped the entire card front up on some black craft foam. Added that to a black card base and I was done.

And for the last card, I went in a different direction.

I made these alcohol inked sheets a few weeks ago and they’ve just been sitting on my desk so since the Hugs die was the main focus this week, I thought it would be fun to do a simple design. I used Amethyst, Purple Twilight and Wild Plum alcohol inks with touches of gold foil.

I used the Stitched Scallop Basic Edges by MFT and popped the white part of the card up on craft foam. I cut a 2″ x 4.25″ chunk of the alcohol inked sheet and attached it to the bottom of my card base. I cut the shadow die with the same sheet and the Hugs using 110 lb. Neenah solar white card stock.

I went over the word Hugs with the Spectrum Noir clear glitter pen to add some sparkle and then topped it off with some Iridescent Bubbles. Can you tell I’m a little obsessed with the iridescent bubbles right now??

I chose to make a shaker card this week. I used the Summer Days stamp set by Mama Elephant along with the Framed Tags Madison Avenue die for the frame. I also used an older die called Stitched Clouds to cut out my sand but I don’t think that die is available any longer.

As usual, I didn’t really know where this challenge would take me when I sat down to make it. I started out by watercoloring the adorable animals with some distress inks but I wasn’t really liking how they turned out. So I pulled out my Faber Castell polychromos colored pencils and added some details to them.

I especially love how the palm tree turned out.

I tucked the cute little pig on the inside.

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. Thank you for joining us for the Anything Goes Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too

This week the challenge is

Red/White and/or Blue

We are showcasing our very own Simon Says Stamp Products this week. You don’t have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used.

As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

Here is what I created:

I used Diagonal Stripes for the background and Star Stream and Seeing Stars for the card front. I also used Stitched Rectangles on the blue card stock. All of these products are by Simon Says Stamp. I used Stitched Rectangle Trimmings for the white frame and Starry Border, both from Memory Box. Then I just popped the Navy card stock up on some craft foam and put it all together!!

Hi guys!! I have important information to share with you today. Simon Says Stamp is hosting the Summer Vacation Kid’s Challenge where we host a special challenge dedicated to our young designers.

ANYTHING GOES WITH SPARKLE

It is time for all you crafters to let your children loose in your crafty corners for a few hours. Just close your eyes and set them free to explore their creativity. Adults are allowed to help just a little bit if necessary, but we really want the children to ‘DO IT’ themselves as much as possible.
You can enter as many times as you like, just remember to add your link into the inlinkz system at the bottom of this post on the Simon Says Stamp blog! If you have several entries on the same post add ?1. ?2, ?3 etc at the end of the url and they will be accepted into the system.
The Design Team all love this challenge and are ready and waiting to pop over to your blog to see your creations!

This challenge is open to all children aged between 2 and 16 inclusive

We have not 1, not 2 but 3 surprise parcels of crafty goodies, hand picked by Simon. All winners are chosen at random, Good Luck to all!

Hello!! Happy Sunday to you!! I’m not used to posting on Sunday’s, but I’m super excited to share this adorable card with you made by my adopted son, Bubby. I say adopted because we love him like he’s our own. Bubby is 10 years old and he’s actually made quite a few cards for me. He’s so sweet and has a huge heart.

He made this card after watching me use distress oxide inks on a card I was making. He thought ink blending was so cool and wanted to give it a try. I think he did a pretty darn good job for his first try!! He used Simon Says stamp Heart of Roses die along with Seedless Preserves, Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Inks. The sentiment is from my stash.

I created this fun little watermark for him so now he’s official.
