Hello my friends!! The new release is LIVE at Simon Says Stamp!!! And this is what I made using the new Wrought Iron Wide Border die. I LOVE this die. I wanted to make a bookmark too, but I ran out of time so expect to see that in the future!

I added a few jewels in the center and I really like how it looks. I popped my card front up on craft foam and added acetate to the back of the die because I thought about making this a shaker card. In the end, I left it as it because I just thought the die was too pretty to compete with.
I’m off to clean my house now so that we can decorate tomorrow. I’m a week behind schedule. We usually have our decorations up the weekend after Thanksgiving. I’m slacking.
We are showcasing Wild Rose Studio Products this week. If you have any of these products, we’d love to see them used, but it’s certainly not a requirement to join the challenge.
As always, the generous folks at Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 voucher to one randomly selected winner to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store.
I definitely honed in on my copic coloring skills this week. I didn’t do anything fancy, I felt like the coloring was dramatic enough so I left it pretty simple.
I think this bunny is the CUTEST image and just fit so perfectly with this bedroom scene. This bunny is from Wild Rose Studio and it’s called Bunny with Teddy.
I had this bedroom image in my stash from a Copic Coloring class I took a few months back. Besides coloring, I just added a little foam tape to the back of my adorable bunny and heat embossed the sentiment.
I didn’t want my sentiment to compete with the scene so I just heat embossed it in white E.P. I love the simple font. This one if from the More Essential Sentiments stamp set by MFT.
We are showcasing Penny Black Products this week. If you have any of these products, we’d love to see them used, but it’s certainly not a requirement to join the challenge.

And boy is it sure getting cold out there!! We’ve had fires going every night lately. I love this time of year and the nightly fires are one of the reasons. I just love sitting in the dark with no sound but the sound of the fire crackling. We have a glass door on our fireplace and it’s so comforting to just sit there and get lost in the mesmerizing glow.
I had a lot of fun with this challenge. I thought the images on this stamp set called Jolly Friends by Penny Black were so dang cute. I started by googling winter skies and as soon as I laid eyes on this image, I knew I wanted to replicate it the best I could. Just look at how beautiful this image is.
For starters, I heat embossed this lovely tree stamp with Platinum embossing powder as well as the Noel sentiment from the Big Scripty Holiday Greeting stamp set by SSS on some bristol smooth card stock. I used masking paper to mask off the snowy hillside and I had planned on adding a light blue/purple color to the snow, but I just loved the contrast. There’s nothing better than a crisp white line when you remove the masking paper.
Once I started ink blending, I decided to keep it quite a bit lighter than the image above. Simply because I was really liking the soft colors. I would love to create this background again and this time go heavy handed with the ink blending. I used Tattered Rose, Worn Lipstick, Shaded Lilac, Wilted Violet and Blueprint Sketch distress oxide inks.
You can never go wrong with this platinum embossing powder. I just love the color and it always looks good no matter what I pair it with.
Once I had my background done, I moved on to coloring this adorable snowman and his little furry friend with copic markers.
I decided to match the snowman’s hat and scarf with colors from my background.
I had to take a closeup of this cutie patootie. He’s just so darn cute!!
I cut the background using the scalloped frame from the Basic Set Creative Cuts die by Mama Elephant. I added some foam tape to the back of my snowman and popped the entire card front up on some craft foam. Instead of adding the usual water drops to my background that I tend to add when using distress inks, I decided to add some snowflakes with a white gel pen. I thought the gray on the snowman’s beanie was a little unexciting so I added some Iridescent Sparkle to spice it up a bit and make it more festive.
Lastly, I added my scene to a piece of textured white card stock and glued it to a 110 lb. Neenah Solar White card base.
We are showcasing Lawn Fawn Products this week. If you have any of these products, we’d love to see them used, but it’s certainly not a requirement to join the challenge.

Hello friends!! It feels like forever since I’ve sat down and posted here. I was MIA last week due to my “adopted” son having a perforated appendix, that was a nightmare, but he’s home, he’s healing up nicely and he’s back to making messes all over my house…
I just couldn’t wait to get back in my craft room. I brought everything but the kitchen sink to the hospital (we stayed there for 5 days) because I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to get some crafting done but it just didn’t happen. I got some images stamped out, but that’s as far as it went.
This card was almost a disaster. I knew we were featuring Lawn Fawn products, but as I was coloring, I completely forgot what the theme was!! I didn’t have anything gold on the card yet so I decided to try a gold Forest Border. I didn’t like it at first, but it kinda grew on me.
I colored my images with Copic markers and then set them aside. I grabbed a piece of Sea Glass card stock by SSS and started ink blending with Broken China, starting at the edges and moving my way towards the center, but leaving the center untouched. I then moved on to a slightly darker color which was Faded Jeans and I finished just the edges off with some Black Soot. I reversed the process (darkest to lightest) to blend the colors better, all while leaving the center untouched. I wanted the Sea Glass to shine through. I loved this technique that I first saw Yana Smakula do and more recently Dawn Woleslagle from W Plus 9 did a gorgeous ink blend on colored card stock. You can certainly ink blend the entire background, but this way helps avoid breaking out in a sweat.
I sprinkled some water droplets on the background, just a few since I knew I’d be adding the snowflakes.
I cut a gold frame as well, just in case I couldn’t go through with the gold trees, but to my surprise I liked both options. I decided to add a layer of Soft Navy card stock in between the card front and the glitter background.
I cut the Stitched Hillside Border die using Neenah Solar White 80 lb. card stock that I had embossed with a texture embossing folder from my stash. It doesn’t really show up well, but it looks really neat with the texture.
I added some snowflakes from the same stamp set. I wanted to break up the sentiment a bit so I heat embossed the “Fairy” part with SSS gold embossing powder and then fussy cut it out and popped it up on foam squares. Then I heat embossed the rest of the sentiment in the same white embossing powder that I used for the snowflakes.
