We are showcasing Stamptember Products this week. If you have any Simon Says Stamp products, we’d love to see them used, but it’s certainly not a requirement to join the challenge.
As always, the generous folks at Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $50 voucher to one randomly selected winner to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store. You can enter 5 times which means you can make 5 different projects following this week’s prompt and have 5 chances to win a shopping spree!! Sounds like a win/win to me!! I’ve linked all of the supplies that I used at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.
No flower says Christmas like the lovely poinsettia plant but I wanted to share that this beautiful background stamp can be used for more than just the holidays.
For my first card, I started out with a piece of Stathmore ready cut watercolor paper and I stamped the poinsettia image with SSS clear ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Then I colored it with watercolor and set it aside to dry.
While my background was drying, I worked on my sentiment. I cut out the word, “hugs” using the Altenew bold alphabet die. First I cut it out using SSS white glitter card stock and then I cut it out using white craft foam.
For the second part of the sentiment I used Tiny Words by SSS on black card stock and white embossing powder. I trimmed it down with the sentiment labels, also by SSS. It took me FOREVER to line up the “hugs” letters, but once I got them glued in place, all I had left to do was glue the secondary sentiment and add a few onyx jewels by Studio Katia.
I created another background using the poinsettia background stamp only this time I heat embossed it with silver embossing powder and watercolored it in purples. I used that background image to cut out the “friend” sentiment once again with Altenew’s bold alphabet die.
I went around the edges of each letter with a Memento tuxedo black marker. For the background, I used Spun Sugar, Seedless Preserves and Wilted Violet distress oxide inks. I sprinkled that with a few water droplets then used a rounded rectangle infinity die by Hero Arts to cut out my card front. I used a top folding black card base and glued everything in place. The letters were a little easier to line up on this one because they were all the same level at the bottom so I just used a T-square ruler and lined the bottom of them up.
For the second part of the sentiment, I used the Tiny Words Encouragement stamp set by SSS. Once again I used the sentiment labels by SSS to cut out the secondary sentiment and to finish off my card I used a few metallic silver jewels by Pretty Pink Posh.
So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!!
