Spooky Village

Hello crafty friends!! Please join me for a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  This week the challenge is

Anything Goes

We are showcasing Lawn Fawn Products this week.  If you have any of these products, we’d love to see them used, but it’s certainly not a requirement to join the challenge.

As always, the generous folks at Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $25 voucher to one randomly selected winner to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store.  You can enter 5 times which means you can make 5 different projects following this week’s prompt and have 5 chances to win a shopping spree!! Sounds like a win/win to me!! I’ve linked all of the supplies that I used at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.

I LOVE these Anything Goes challenges!! I had so much fun making these cards. I knew as soon as I saw this challenge what stamp set I wanted to use and I knew what I wanted to do for the backgrounds so I jumped right into this project. The stamp set I used is called Spooky Village by Lawn Fawn. I don’t have the die so luckily I was able to use my Brother Scan N Cut to cut all of these out. I started to fussy cut them and quickly realized it was going to take me forever!! So needless to say the die is now sitting in my shopping cart at Simon Says Stamp.

I started out on Bristol Smooth Card Stock and I ink blended 3 backgrounds. I used Distress Oxides starting with Ripe Persimmon, Fired Brick and ended each with Black Soot. The next background is Twisted Citron and Mowed Lawn and lastly Wilted Violet and Dusty Concord.

Using X-Press It Blending Card, I stamped out all of my images using my Misti 2.0 and Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I stamped all images out on three separate sheets and copic colored each to match my backgrounds.

I did some more ink blending for my grass using Mowed Lawn, Lucky Clover, Peeled Paint and Black Soot. I used the Simon Says Stamp Grassy Edges die to cut my grass out.

Before gluing everything in place, I sprinkled some water and Black Soot on the backgrounds. I didn’t on the purple background though only because I forgot and there’s not much of the purple background showing.

I used more grassy area on the purple card and I didn’t really love it so I made some adjustments for the next two.

How cute are these little ghosts??? Lawn Fawn has the BEST accessories in their stamp sets. I love all of the little pieces that make up this scene.

I tried to get an angle so that you could see all of the little dimension pieces because I think it’s all about the little details that make a card amazing.

I heat embossed the sentiment using Brutus Monroe’s Alabaster White embossing powder.

I used the thin black foam squares to pop up little details. Here’s a few more pictures just for fun.

So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!!

Party Animal

Hello crafty friends!! Please join me for a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  This week the challenge is

Animal Antics

We are showcasing Doodlebug Design Products this week.  If you have any of these products, we’d love to see them used, but it’s certainly not a requirement to join the challenge.

I decided to go with a shaker card this week. The stamp set I used is called Party Animal by Doodlebug and since it’s a kid themed stamp set, I thought a child would love a shaker card!! I stamped the images on Copic friendly X-Press It Blending Card and colored them with my copic markers. I used MFT’s Mini Cloud Edges stencil to do some really light clouds in the background. I cut it out using one of the Stitched Rectangle dies by Lawn Fawn.

Using two of the Stitched Rectangle dies from Lawn Fawn, I created a frame. I used a piece of the patterned paper from the Doodlebug At The Zoo 6×6 patterned paper pad to create the frame. I also used another piece of the patterned paper pad for the background as well.

I created my shaker window and added a bunch of different sequins from my stash. I attached everything to a top folding card base. I created the Happy Birthday with the Happy Birthday Brush Script die by Simon Says Stamp.

So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!!

Hello crafty friends!! Please join me for a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  This week the challenge is

Humorous/Fun Card

We are showcasing Riley and Co. products this week.  If you have any of these products, we’d love to see them used, but it’s certainly not a requirement to join the challenge.

I LOVE this company!! They have the absolute BEST sentiments!! I actually laughed out loud when I saw this one so I knew I had to use it. It’s conveniently called Boobs in My Coffee by Riley and Co. I paired this sentiment up with a stamp by The Rabbit Hole called Caffeinated Cat which I thought was a perfect match.

After I colored my caffeinated cat with my copic markers, I took a piece of Bristol Smooth Card stock and the Splatters stencil by Tim Holtz and stenciled the coffee rings up in the top left corner of my panel with Ground Espresso distress ink. Then I used a Stitched Rectangle die by Lawn Fawn and die cut it to give it a nice stitched border. I took some Walnut Stain distress ink and ink blended all around the edges of my stitched panel.

Using my mini Misti I stamped my sentiment with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. I used several foam squares, both large and small and popped my caffeinated kitty up a bit.

I then grabbed an A2 piece of Neenah Desert Storm card stock and stamped the coffee beans all around the edge using Sparrow ink by Simon Says Stamp.

I used a piece of craft foam to pop up my top layer and then attached it all to a top folding card base. I used the Neenah Desert Storm card stock for the card base as well.

I also made a 2nd card using the same sentiment. I did exactly the same thing, I just used a different image.

I used the Simon Says Stamp Coffee Cup wafer die for this card.

Which one do you like better?

So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!!

Neon Magic

Hello crafty friends!! Please join me for a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  This week the challenge is

Stamp It

We are showcasing Simon Says Stamp STAMPtember Products this week.  WOOHOO!! Since the release just went live yesterday, I’m sure you guys don’t have any new STAMPtember goodies just yet, but feel free to use any Simon Says Stamp product, if you have it. If not, that’s ok too. Just follow the prompt and share you creations with us.

Can you believe it’s STAMPtember already?!? I look forward to this day each year, more than I do Christmas day!! The new release is AWESOME!! It’s the best one I’ve seen yet AND there’s a new collaboration happening each week for the entire month of STAMPtember!! If you’d like to see the entire release, CLICK HERE.

This card came together really quickly. I started out on a piece of Bristol Smooth Card Stock cut down to A2 size. I’ve been dying to try out these gorgeous neon inks by Rina K so that’s just what I did! I ink blended several colors and then went to work on the Stamp It portion of my card.

I used several of the sentiments from the Because of You stamp set and using my Misti, I lined them up around my main focal point which is the Because of You sentiment. This took some time but I had a little help from my Misti Grid Transparency so it made it a little easier to make sure everything was centered and straight.

I stamped the sentiments with Memento Tuxedo Black ink twice. I had planned on heat embossing it with black embossing powder, but I was too impatient to let the paper dry. I did try and dry it using my heat tool, but as I tested it by pouring just a little bit of black embossing powder straight on my background, I realized it would probably need quite some time to dry. The black embossing powder was everywhere. So I skipped the embossing and just stamped it twice to get a nice bold black impression.

I carefully cut the background down to 4″ x 5.25″ and mounted it to a black background. I actually had to take the safety guard off of my Tim Holtz Paper Trimmer temporarily so that I wouldn’t smudge the ink. I had to make this background twice because the first time, the black ink smudged pretty bad when I went to trim it down. I was in a bit of a hurry because I was making several cards for the new release and the blog party that’s also happening today along with this challenge. Everything was happening at once!!

To finish it off, I added a few Onyx Crystals by Studio Katia and attached it all to a side folding card base.

So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!!

And now I want to share with you what I made using the Because of You Clear Stamp Set. I started out by creating an alcohol inked background. I trimmed it down just a fraction and attached it to a pink background.

Using the same pink card stock, I heat embossed the sentiment using white embossing powder. Then I used a white gel pen to create a white stitched border. I added a few strips of foam tape to the back of the sentiment to give it a little dimension.

I attached it all to a top folding card base. And that’s it!! The background took the longest to create but after that, this card went together very quickly.

I made a second card using the same stamp set.

For this card, I started out on a piece of Bristol Smooth Card Stock and ink blended a little Wilted Violet distress ink. Then I embossed the You Matter background stamp with clear embossing powder. I ink blended more Wilted Violet so that the embossed image would stand out a little more.

I die cut the background using a Stitched Rectangle die by Lawn Fawn.

I took a strip of Vellum and white heat embossed the sentiment. I made sure the vellum was long enough to wrap around the the background so that I wouldn’t have to have any glue on the front.

I sprayed the background with Tsukineko Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Sparkle to give it a beautiful sparkly glow. To finish it off, I added it all to a top folding card base and attached a few Clear Round Drops by Studio Katia.

That’s it for me today! Don’t forget to head to the Simon Says Stamp Blog and check out all the inspiration featuring products from the STAMPtember release.
