Fun With Foil

Hello crafty friends!! Please join me for a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  This week the challenge is

Make Your Own Background

We are showcasing Brutus Monroe Products this week.  If you have any of these products, we’d love to see them used, but it’s certainly not a requirement to join the challenge.

As always, the generous folks at Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $25 voucher to one randomly selected winner to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store.  You can enter 5 times which means you can make 5 different projects following this week’s prompt and have 5 chances to win a shopping spree!! Sounds like a win/win to me!! I’ve linked all of the supplies that I used at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.

I love playing with foil. I used Brutus Monroe Purple Sketch Deco Foil for my background.

I started off with a piece of black card stock and Lavender card stock. I used Deco Foil transfer gel with my Reverse Hearts stencil and set them aside to dry. Once they were dry, I used my mini minc machine to transfer the Brutus Monroe Purple Sketch Deco Foil onto my card stock.

Once they were cool to the touch, I used one of Lawn Fawn’s Stitched Rectangle dies to both backgrounds to give them a nice stitched border.

I used the gorgeous Holographic card stock and cut out my sentiment which is the You Are Loved die by Simon Says Stamp. I used black card stock as the shadow die. I attached it to a side folding card base and I was done! Easy Peazy.

For my next card, I did the same process only this time I used the Chunky Happy and Chunky Birthday dies for my sentiment.

Instead of the holographic card stock, I used Lavender and Black Card stock.

I attached it to a matching lavender side folding card base and I was done with card number two!! Sounds fairly easy, right? Well, that’s because it was! I think it took me maybe an hour to make both cards. The most time consuming part was gluing all of the letters in place.

So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!!
