Embossed

Hello crafty friends!! It’s time for a brand new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  This week the challenge is

We are showcasing Wow Embossing Powder Products this week.  If you have any of these products, we’d love to see them used, but it’s certainly not a requirement to join the challenge.

As always, the generous folks at Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $25 voucher to one randomly selected winner to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store.  You can enter 5 times which means you can make 5 different projects following this week’s prompt and have 5 chances to win a shopping spree!! Sounds like a win/win to me!! I’ve linked all of the supplies that I used at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.

This week it’s all about embossing so I did a little dry embossing and a little heat embossing as well. I wanted to do some emboss resisting, however it just didn’t work out on this card. That’s a technique that I forget about often and I love doing it so maybe I’ll add a post it note to my desk to remind me to play around with that technique more often.

This card came together very easy this week. I didn’t have the best week, it was pretty rough health-wise so this was all I could muster up. But I like how it turned out. I just ran a piece of black card stock through the Vines embossing folder by Simon and trimmed it down to 4″ x 5.25″.

I LOVE this embossing powder by Wow called One Hundred and One. It’s a mixture of black and white chunks and it melts into this gorgeous mixture of color that really stands out. I used the Fancy Thanks die by Simon and heat embossed the top layer with the One Hundred and One embossing powder. I didn’t need to add layers like I usually do because the embossing powder had enough dimension. I just added a black shadow and popped it up with some foam squares.

I used these tiny flowers from Spellbinders called Mini Blooms and Sprigs just to add a little color to my card.

I added a sub-sentiment from the Thanks Sentiment Strips which I also popped up with a foam strip and attached everything to a top folding card base.

So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!!
