I know this stamp set is on it’s way out from Simon Says Stamp, but I’ve been itching to use it ever since I got it so I thought this was my opportunity. It’s called Cone of Shame by Whimsy Stamps. It is no longer being stocked but at the moment it is still in stock.

I started out by stamping my images where I wanted them and then I colored them and the ground with my copic markers.

I masked off the dog house and the dog and created the sky using the Mini Cloud Edges stencil by MFT and Tumbled Glass distress oxide ink.

I stamped my sentiment and cut the panel out using a Wonky Rectangle die by Simon Says Stamp. Whimsy Stamps also has a Wonky Stitched Rectangle die.

I added a little Nuvo Crystal Glaze on the cone and on the dog’s nose to add a little shine. I adhered my panel to a A2 size piece of Slate card stock and attached it all to a top folding card base.

So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!!

STAMPtember is Going Strong

Hello crafty friends!! Please join me for a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  This week the challenge is

Stamp It

We are showcasing products from the one and only STAMPtember release this week.  If you have any of these products, we’d love to see them used, but it’s certainly not a requirement to join the challenge.

As always, the generous folks at Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $25 voucher to one randomly selected winner to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store.  You can enter 5 times which means you can make 5 different projects following this week’s prompt and have 5 chances to win a shopping spree!! Are you guys enjoying STAMPtember so far?? Simon’s newest release is AMAZING!!! I can’t wait to see what else is in store for us throughout the month. So for this card, I did my best at copic coloring my images. The images are from the new stamp set called Butterfly Ranunculus.

After I copic colored my images, I fussy cut them out. I set them aside and worked on my background. I took a piece of lemon chiffon card stock and I ran it through the vine canopy embossing folder. I trimmed my panel down to 4″x5.25″.

I took a piece of black card stock and I trimmed just a little off to make it roughly 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″. I just wanted the white card base to peek out a bit.

I used a scrap of black card stock and I white heat embossed a sentiment from the same stamp set. I glued it to my card panel. I popped both images up with foam squares and I placed them on my panel as well. They were hanging off the edge a bit so I trimmed them down.

I wanted some sparkle on this card so I used a nuvo aqua shimmer pen just on the pink areas of the flowers.

To finish off my card, I added a few iridescent bubbles.

So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!!

And click here to hop along the blog party. There will be fun surprises to discover along the way. I have a free gift to share with you which you’ll find at the bottom of this post. And this is just the beginning!! Each day for the entire month of September, Simon Says Stamp will be collaborating with a new company each day for exclusive products that will only be available until they are sold out. So if you see something you love, you better hop on it and purchase it before it’s too late. There’s going to be surprises along the way and contests and special announcements so be sure to stay tuned into the Simon Says Stamp blog.

Back to the new release, I’d like to share with you a couple of cards that I made using the brand new stamp set called Butterfly Ranunculus. This is such a lovely stamp set and it has great sentiments included. You can also get the coordinating dies. I recorded a process video of the second card I’m sharing and that video can be found at the bottom of this post and also on my YouTube channel.

For this card I white heat embossed the image six times and then I used two shades of every color to ink blend using distress oxide inks (all colors linked below). I wanted the centers to be a bit darker than the rest of the image. To achieve this I used a shader brush 0 for the darkest colors and a blending brush for the lighter shade.

I fussy cut the images out and then I sprayed each one with sheer shimmer spritz in sparkle to add a little… well, sparkle. I set them aside and prepared my background. I used the slim diagonal stitched rectangle to cut my background and then I white heat embossed one of the sentiments from this stamp set.

I arranged my images where I wanted them and I added foam squares to the two end flowers (pink and purple). Once I had them glued in place, I splattered my panel with a little white gouache. I attached the panel to a fog card base and to finish my card, I added a few fairy jewels in several coordinating colors.

For my second card, I started out with a piece of A2 sized neenah desert storm card stock. I stamped these beautiful images and colored them with my copic markers. I’m not sure if this has ever happened to you but every once in awhile one of my copic markers will bleed out the tip creating a drop of ink on whatever it is I’m working on. Can you see it? I researched it when it first happened and I discovered the remedy is to remove the cap from the other end of the marker while using it. If your tip looks a little too juicy, then it probably is so be careful!!

I white heat embossed the sentiment from one of the many in this stamp set and then I splattered my panel with white gouache. I trimmed it down to 4″x5.25″ and then I rounded the corners with a corner punch. I popped the panel up with some craft foam and I attached it to a piece of A2 sized midnight green card stock.

I attached everything to a top folding card base also from neenah desert storm card stock. To finish this card off, I added a few clear round drops. I took one of the images from the stamp set and stamped the envelope as well using pawsitively saturated ink in latte.

Don’t forget to check out the Simon Says Stamp blog to see everyone that is participating in this blog party and loads of inspiration. And remember, there are fun surprises along the way waiting to be discovered.
