Spooky Boo Crew

Hello crafty friends!! Please join me for a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.  This week the challenge is

Spooky

We are showcasing our very own Simon Says Stamp Products this week.  If you have any of these products, we’d love to see them used, but it’s certainly not a requirement to join the challenge.

As always, the generous folks at Simon Says Stamp will be giving away a $25 voucher to one randomly selected winner to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store.  You can enter 5 times which means you can make 5 different projects following this week’s prompt and have 5 chances to win a shopping spree!! Sounds like a win/win to me!! I’ve linked all of the supplies that I used at the end of this post. Compensated affiliate links used where possible at no cost to you.

I don’t make Halloween cards too often so I was super excited to get to use this little gem again. This is The Boo Crew stamp set by Simon Says Stamp.

I colored all of my images with my copic markers on XPress It Copic Blending Card. Then I used my silhouette to cut out this spooky tree twice and layered them to give it a touch of dimension.

I used Bristol Smooth card stock for my card base since I knew I was going to be ink blending and I cut it to 5″x7″. For my background I ink blended Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, Fired Brick and Black Soot distress oxide inks. I splattered water, Black Soot, White Gouache and a little Liquid Stardust for a little sparkle. I cut out a circle with my Nested Circles dies from masking paper to mask off a moon.

For the grass I ink blended Peeled Paint, Forest Moss and Black Soot distress oxide inks. I cut the grass twice using my Slimline Grassy Border die by Lawn Fawn. I also splattered the grass with water and Black Soot. I popped up the front panel of grass with foam tape.

Once I pulled the mask off, I smooshed Squeezed Lemonade and Iced Spruce distress inks with some water on my media mat and painted the moon. For some finishing touches, I stamped a few bats and I heat embossed the spiderweb and spider with black embossing powder. I also heat embossed the second portion of the sentiment with white embossing powder on black card stock.

So now it’s YOUR turn. Happy Crafting!!
